STARTING AREA

Central & Haymarket

A practical starting point when arrival, luggage and onward transport shape the day.

Choose this area for the transport pattern you will actually use, then check the accommodation's front-door location. A place described as near Central can still involve a meaningful walk with a suitcase. Compare the entrance and your arrival platform area in the official journey result.

Start with the first and last journeys

Check arrival with luggage and departure with luggage separately. A good base for an early start may not be the same choice as a good base for a late meal. Use the time of your actual movement instead of a general travel-time statement.

Keep the arrival day small

Resolve bag drop before adding sightseeing. If the room is not ready, a meal and one small outing may be enough. The first-day guide explains how to count the usable time after arrival and luggage.

Compare the whole booking

Use the room price, required room count and nights in the budget calculator. Then add transport for your chosen activities. A cheaper room can lose its advantage if the daily movements do not suit your group, but do the arithmetic using actual quotes rather than assuming that trade-off.

Before booking, check room occupancy, the luggage arrangement, the exact entrance and any lift or access requirement directly with the property. This area guide does not rank hotels or claim a recent accommodation inspection.
