Compare a group with a group.
A per-person rail fare and a per-vehicle taxi amount answer different questions until you multiply by the number travelling. The tool makes that step explicit. Use the full official rail quote, or a train-only component with the access-fee option, so that fee is counted once.
A taxi can involve different capacity and luggage constraints. Selecting a maxi changes the eligible published trial amount. Five or more travellers also use that amount. The cost calculation does not confirm that a particular vehicle can carry the group.
Use the trial only for its actual scope.
The checked fixed-fare rule is for qualifying uninterrupted trips from airport taxi ranks to the designated CBD zone. It is not used for every Sydney suburb or for the return trip to the airport. Uncheck the qualifying-trip box to enter a group quote for another journey.
This tool does not fetch live vehicle prices, traffic or concession eligibility. Previously earned access-fee caps are outside the model. Read the detailed comparison, including the example that separates a rail component from the airport access fee.
A worked decision, not a live quote
Airport example: three people at an illustrative A$25 each cost A$75 by train. A vehicle quote of A$70 for the whole party is A$5 less; two vehicles at A$70 cost A$140, or A$65 more. Enter the actual total quote, then check luggage, child seats and the walk from the station. These figures are examples, not current fares.
