Strathfield Station drop-off: Kiss & Ride and stopping alert

Albert Road · Stand E · pedestrian crossing

Even a brief passenger drop-off can lead to a fine where stopping is prohibited. Check signs and use a signed Kiss & Ride area.

Where to pick up or drop off: use Kiss & Ride

Use the signed Kiss & Ride areas immediately in front of and beside the station, shown in the operator’s photos below. Meet your passenger there instead of stopping in the bus zone or by the crossing.

  1. Check the arrows and operating times. Stay entirely within the permitted section: an adjacent No Stopping sign may point the other way. Stop only to pick up or set down passengers, for less than 2 minutes; remain in or within 3 metres of your vehicle and leave promptly.
  2. If the bay is full or your passenger is not ready, use a lawful parking space and arrange a meeting time. Do not wait in the bus zone, on the crossing or beside another vehicle.

The operator reports recently witnessing repeated vehicle enforcement in this area. Even if no ranger is visible, follow the stopping signs and use Kiss & Ride.

Anonymised CCTV: the surrounding area

CCTV supplied by the cafe operator. The camera overlay shows 30 October 2026, around 17:08; the clock has not been independently verified. People can be seen moving and using a handheld device. This short clip does not clearly establish a vehicle being photographed or a fine being issued. Only faces have been mosaicked; hands and the camera remain visible. No audio.

Before you stop

  • During a bus zone’s signed operating times, ordinary vehicles must not stop within its arrows, including for a brief passenger drop-off.
  • At a pedestrian crossing, stopping is generally prohibited within 20 metres before and 10 metres after it, unless signs permit it. Follow the signs on the day.

Use the signed Kiss & Ride areas immediately in front of and beside the station, shown in the operator’s photos below. Meet your passenger there instead of stopping in the bus zone or by the crossing.

Station pickup

Arrange the meeting before the driver leaves: agree on the signed Kiss & Ride section and have the passenger ready on the footpath. If it is full, continue to a permitted parking space and agree a new pickup time. Do not use the bus zone or crossing approach as a waiting area. The supplied location photos below help distinguish the two places; follow the signs on arrival.
